I am an associate tutor at the University of Sussex and have been delivering trauma training, there and elsewhere, to a variety of students, social care, and health care professionals for over 10 years. Through lively and interactive workshops, I draw on my lived experience of childhood trauma, as well as insights from cutting edge trauma research. I have experience of working with groups of various sizes, from ten or so all the way to lecture theatres of 100 or more. I am particularly keen to address the double-injury faced by so many trauma survivors who are left to cope, not only with the original traumatising event, but with services that do not recognise or meet their needs. Together we can help people move beyond survival, and towards a more meaningful experience of life.

The capacity for healing is inherent in us, unfolding in the presence of the long-awaited support.”

Bonnie Badenoch.

Workshops can be tailored according to organisational needs and may include, among other topics: recognising common signs of traumatisation; responding to disclosures of trauma and abuse; the links between trauma and addiction; creating safety for clients; vicarious trauma and self-care.

Fees: £200 per 2 hour workshop - £500 full day (plus travel expenses)

With social work students at the University of Sussex, October 2021

The past several years, Danielle and I have worked to present content together as she can provide both her own lived experience whilst drawing upon her wider academic and practical understanding of trauma, trauma-informed practices, and trauma-specific interventions. Danielle is kind and encouraging to students, and we receive positive feedback following her input.”

Dr. Kristi Hickle

For several years, Danielle has been delivering training to a range of healthcare professionals in the area of working with traumatised service users. These workshops have proved to be most valuable learning experiences, receiving very positive feedback.”

Professor John Smart

“I just wanted to thank you for the lecture you gave this afternoon about working with traumatised service users. It was a very informative session and I learnt a lot of practical and relevant information that I can take with me in my studies and future employment.”
